Frequently Asked Questions

Who plans the playdates and events?

Every mom! There is never any pressure to host a playdate but whenever a mom has an idea for a cute craft playdate, a holiday party, a beach day, or  berry picking (just to name a few), she can send a message to the secretary for it to be added to the calendar. Quite often though, playdates are impromtu so moms can also just post an open invitation on the Facebook page.

Do I have to live in Brookfield, CT?

Yes, you must live in Brookfield, CT. Most other towns have their own MOMS Club chapter. For more information, you can visit www.momsclub.org. If your town does not have a chapter, you can join the closest chapter to your home.

How do I know if MOMS Club is for me?

You are more than welcome to come to two of our events and decide for yourself before joining! Just email us at themomsclubofbrookfield@gmail.com and we can let you know what's coming up.

Is there a minimum involvement necessary or attendance required?

No. Though we would love to see all members at all events, we also know that the job of being a mom is too demanding for that! Whether you can make all our events or just a few here and there, it's totally up to you. Our invitations are always open!

I don't know anyone in the MOMS Club, is it cliquey?

Joining a large group of women you don't know can always be daunting, especially when some have already developed friendships. However, it is one of our biggest priorities to avoid the development of cliques. That is why all events are always open to all members and it is common to see new faces or familiar ones that we don't see that often. Our events are always children-focused and so our adult conversations typically revolve around our little ones. We all love meeting new moms and we're sure that in the MOMS Club, you'll find meaningful friendships, too.

Why do I have to pay a membership fee for this club?

We try to keep the annual dues minimal. The $25 dues for this club help us rent space for our monthly meetings, supply snacks for our little ones, refreshments for our guest speakers during those meetings, fund our advertising costs for brochures and sponsorships, contribute to the costs of our annual family BBQ, and subsidize the costs associated with our fundraing efforts for charity. The MOMS Club is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization run by volunteers. If the dues are a financial concern for you and your family, please just contact us and we would be happy to help!
